Person-centred psychotherapy · Dublin and online

How it works

About

Hello, I'm Michelle.

I'm a person-centred psychotherapist working with adults in Dublin and online.

People usually come to me when something has been heavy for a while: worry that won't switch off, a loss that still catches them, an old hurt that keeps showing up, or a relationship that has started to feel hard.

I won't hand you a script or tell you what you should feel. I'll listen properly, without judgement, and help you make sense of things in your own words and at your own pace. You are the expert on your life. My job is to give you a steady space to hear yourself think.

What we can work on

Whatever brought you here is a good enough reason.

Take one slow breath with me.

Press and hold the circle. Breathe in as it fills. Let go when it's full.

That's the pace we'll go at. No rush, ever.

How it works

Three small steps. No pressure at any of them.

  1. 01

    A free 15-minute call

A short, relaxed chat by phone or video. You can ask me anything, tell me a little about what's going on, and get a feel for whether we're a good fit. There's no obligation to book anything after.

  2. 02

    Your first session

Fifty minutes, in my Dublin room or online. You don't need to prepare anything or know where to start. We begin wherever you are.

  3. 03

    Continue at your pace

Most people meet weekly, at the same time each week. It often takes a few sessions to feel settled, and we'll check in regularly on how it's going for you.

Questions

Things people often ask before they start.

I don't know what to say, or where to start. Is that OK?

Completely. Most people feel that way at first. You don't need to arrive with a plan. We'll start with whatever is on your mind that day, even if that's "I'm not sure why I'm here."

What does person-centred mean?

It means you lead and I follow. I won't diagnose you or push you down a set programme. I offer warmth, honesty and close attention, so you can explore what's going on and find your own way through it.

Is what I say kept private?

Yes. Everything you share stays between us. The only exceptions are rare situations where someone's safety is at serious risk, or where the law requires it. I'll explain this clearly in our first session so there are no surprises.

Is online therapy as good as in person?

For many people, yes. Some find it easier to open up from their own space. All you need is a quiet, private room and a phone or laptop. You can also switch between the two.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on you and what you'd like to work on. Some people come for a handful of sessions, others for longer. We'll keep talking about it, and you can stop whenever you choose.

What does "Pre-Accredited Member IACP" mean?

I'm a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have completed an IACP-accredited training course, I follow the IACP Code of Ethics and Practice, and I work under regular clinical supervision while I complete my hours toward full accreditation.

What if I need to cancel?

Life happens. Just let me know as early as you can and we'll find another time.

When you're ready, it starts with a short chat.

Fifteen minutes, free, and no obligation.
